Inspect the property
Check windows, heating, ventilation, water pressure and visible signs of damp. Ask which furnishings and appliances remain. Find out how repairs are reported. If parking or storage matters, confirm what is included in writing.
Understand the agreement
Read the proposed tenancy terms, deposit arrangements, notice rules and responsibilities for bills. Work out an estimated monthly cost including utilities, transport and any other regular expense relevant to you. Verify address-specific connectivity with the provider.
Record the handover
Check the inventory carefully and document discrepancies promptly. Save dated photos and copies of important messages. The moving plan helps organise the wider schedule.
