A home near an office may be convenient, but the best location depends on how often and when you travel. Use your typical week, not an idealised schedule.
Count the real journeys
List office days, client visits and any early or late shifts. Test the route at those hours. For hybrid work, consider the space and connectivity you need at home.
Add the costs
Include fares, fuel, parking and the value of your time alongside housing costs. A lower rent can be less attractive if every workday adds a long, expensive journey.
Leave room for change
Ask whether the address would still work if your work pattern shifted. Compare alternatives using the commute checklist.
